Cheesy Breakfast Strata

This Cheesy Breakfast Strata means puffed, custardy eggs snuggled with Canadian Bacon and English muffins. Easy to make, feeds a crowd, and absolutely bubbling with our creamy, mild Havarti cheese.

  • 6 English muffins, split and cut crosswise
  • 10 slices Canadian bacon, cut crosswise
  • 7 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • Tiny pinch of nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 (6-oz) block Roth Creamy Havarti, shredded
  • Chopped chives, for garnish


  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Arrange muffins and Canadian bacon in a 12-inch gratin or casserole dish, back and forth, side by side.
  3. Whisk the eggs, mustard, nutmeg and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Add milk and whisk to combine. Pour the egg mixture over the muffins and let sit about 10 minutes, if you can.
  4. Sprinkle shredded Havarti cheese on top, and bake 50 minutes, until puffed, browned and bubbling. Let rest another 10 minutes before diving in. Garnish with a sprinkling of chives, and serve.
