These Crispy Goat Cheese Poppers with Honey are the most delicious fried goat cheese balls, especially made with our flavorful Garlic Herb Chèvre and drizzled with honey for serving.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces (2 4-oz logs) Roth Garlic Herb Chèvre goat cheese
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg, whisked
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Honey, for drizzling
  • Light oil, for frying

Method

  1. Combine flour and salt in small bowl. Whisk one egg in a separate bowl and add panko in a third bowl.
  2. Cut each log into 12 pieces and roll them into small balls. Roll each ball in flour, then egg, then panko crumbs, coating evenly, roll them one more time. Freeze 20 minutes, or until firm.
  3. Set a deep saucepan to medium-high heat. Heat oil to 350 degrees F.
  4. Fry goat cheese poppers in batches, about 1 to 2 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel-lined plate.
  5. Transfer to a platter and drizzle with honey. Serve immediately.
