Looking for an easy pierogi recipe? This flavorful 1-pan dish with apples, onions, spinach & ultra-creamy Havarti cheese can be made in a quick 45 minutes.

  • 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 small fuji apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 (1-lb) box frozen cheese pierogis (or about 12 pierogis)
  • 3 1/2 cups fresh spinach (about 1/2 bag)
  • 1 (6-oz) block Roth Original Havarti cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a large ovenproof skillet, add onions, olive oil, and a hefty pinch of salt. Cook for 5 minutes. Add apples and cook for 3 minutes, or until apples begin to soften.
  3. Stir in frozen pierogis and place in the oven for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove pan from the oven and stir in spinach and another pinch of salt. Top with shredded Havarti, and bake for another 15 minutes.
  5. Without removing the pan from the oven, turn oven to broil and broil for 3 minutes or until the top is golden and toasted.
  6. Remove from oven and enjoy!
